No New Posts Highbranch

At the edge of the camp is a willow tree, the biggest one on the island. Its large roots, combined with the half-underground burrow beneath the trunk make up the leader's den. Whenever the leader needs to make an announcement or call a Clan meeting, they simply jump onto the lowest hanging branch - though still rather high - and make their announcement. Albeit being the lowest branch, the Highbranch is still fit to be the place for announcements because everyone is able to see the leader as they speak and there is little risk of the branch breaking off or the leader slipping. The rest of the Clan can gather under the protective circle of the sweeping leaves to hear what the leader has to say.

No New Posts Clearing

On the camp island, in the central area, is the camp clearing. The fresh-kill pile is located here, where warriors and apprentices can drop off the prey they've caught or to take some fresh-kill when they're hungry - after the Clan has been fed, of course. Covered by lush grass and rich, moist soil, the clearing is a popular place for Clan members to enjoy a meal, play around, or just take a break after a good hunting patrol or training session. The clearing is also where Clan members who have gone to StarClan are honored and where their close friends share one last night with them before their burial.

No New Posts Medicine Den

To the right of the Highbranch (skipping the nursery) and facing the clearing is the medicine den, where the medicine cat keeps their herbs and cares for sick cats. The den itself is one of the few boulders on the island, seemingly carved out specifically for this purpose. More like a cave than a boulder, the medicine den is small, but roomy enough for multiple cats to sleep inside at the same time with room to spare. Large crevices are used for herb storage, and in the back, the ground slopes gently down into a small pool on the other side of the wall, which is where the medicine cat gets water for their sick patients.

No New Posts Warriors Den

Though the camp is an island and doesn't have an official entrance because it is surrounded by water, the warrior's den is the closest den to the stepping stones that lead to the nearest island, directly across from the Highbranch. The den is an old abandoned badger's burrow, and at first sight it simply looks like a hole in the ground., but once inside, it's actually a spacious cavern. The den was originally much smaller, but the warriors carved out most of the soil to accommodate more warriors. They were careful to not dig too far in any direction, since there was the possibility that it could flood or collapse. The warrior's den is where the warriors can sleep comfortably on the soft ground; it's always relatively warm because the small entrance and close walls trap the heat inside, so they don't need to worry about it being too chilly during leaf-bare.

No New Posts Apprentice's Den

To the right of the warrior's den, its leaves and branches sheltering it from above, is a willow tree. The ground is completely caved in underneath, making it seem that the tree is supported by its roots alone. IceClan took advantage of this, dug the soil out, and made it the apprentice's den. It almost seems like a dome made out of the sturdy roots of the tree. A hole was dug inside to add more room and make the den less exposed. It does get a little cramped if there are several apprentices inside at once, but it's well-sheltered by the roots, the hanging branches, and the tree itself.

No New Posts Nursery

Nestled in between the Highbranch and medicine den, the nursery is made of a ring of ferns with extra reinforcement from the roots of the Highbranch and the exterior wall of the medicine den. Though the chances of a kit rolling down the slope into the water seems high, the ferns are thick enough that a grown warrior would have to hack through with a good amount of strength to get to the water on the other side. Though the nursery may seem like the most exposed of dens, a queen and her kits can hide easily in the roots of the Highbranch tree in the event of an unexpected attack. The medicine den is readily next-door so the medicine cat would need to take only a few pawsteps to check up on the health of the nursery's inhabitants.

No New Posts Elder's Den

Under the sweeping branches and leaves of the Highbranch tree and the apprentice's den, a long, thick log rests on the grass lengthwise. The log was hallowed and made into the elder's den. While being a den, it also acts as a good barrier, keeping cats from accidentally falling into the water on that side of the island. While elders complain that the den is too cramped, it's actually rather roomy, enough so that a few cats can stretch out comfortably inside or curl up without being too claustrophobic.

Board Description
IceClan Camp
Surrounded by a wide but gentle stream, IceClan's camp is just another island among the several pieces of scattered land that make up their territory. Although there are no walls and few trees to protect the cats from shelter or harm, the water that surrounded the clearing is large enough to slow down invaders at the least. The fish that populate the waters know to keep away from the camp, but some occasionally stray close enough for warriors who happen to be near the edge to snatch up. Most of the dens are made up of willow trees, crevices in stray boulders, or abandoned burrows dug by badgers in the moist soil long before the Clans arrived.
