No New Posts Highboulder

A large boulder takes up most of the central area of the camp, which is where the leader makes announcements or calls Clan meetings. There are shallow footholds scattered over the surface of the Highboulder to make it easier to scale the steep sides and scramble to the top so the leader can make their announcement. Under the rock, the soil loosened and much of it was washed out, fashioning the Clan leader's den. Mostly underground, two or three cats can fit inside without being too cramped if the leader needs to speak in private. Though some of the soil is gone and can't support the large boulder above, it's in no danger of collapsing because the den stretches downward, so the ground wouldn't be too unstable and can hold the Highboulder's weight.

No New Posts Clearing

The entire camp is composed of the plateau that is surrounded by mountains of various sizes. All around the circumference of the camp is a ring of ferns and shrubs except for the entrance, keeping reckless kits from tumbling off the rather steep sides. Most of the dens in the camp are fashioned from large boulders or burrows because there are no trees to take shelter from the rain with. The clearing itself is covered with soft springy grass and moss that's perfect for bedding. The fresh-kill pile is located in the center of the clearing, a few tail-lengths in front of the Highboulder. Though snow falls heavily during leaf-bare, the sun shines brightly on the camp, pure and bright from the absence of trees, and on greenleaf nights, the stars shine bright, assuring that StarClan is watching closely over the Clan.

No New Posts Medicine Den

Directly across the entrance to the leader's den is the medicine den, an old burrow that had been enlarged. The originally spacious entrance is blocked by a big flat stone to keep out rain and prevent flooding since the den is underground, but it's a simple matter for any cat to slip through the small opening that still remains. Little divots carved out of the wall serve as storage for herbs, and since it's difficult to get water at such a high elevation, there is a hole in the wall where it starts to slope downward, and a small pool collects rainwater for the medicine cat to use. To prevent flooding during heavy rains, the medicine cat could push a rock stored in there for that exact purpose to cover the hole and prevent any more rain from falling in.

No New Posts Warrior's Den

The den nearest to the break in the ring of greenery that surrounds the camp that acts as the entrance is the warriors den. The warrior's den is a circle of ferns itself, which doesn't provide much protection to wind or rain, but is comfortable on calm nights. The plants are thick enough to act as walls around where the warriors of FlameClan sleep, but in the event of rain, warriors would have to take shelter under the wide, protective leaves to minimize getting their fur wet, which is almost unavoidable. The soft grass that lines the ground is perfect for comfortable bedding, so the warriors can spare the apprentices of one job.

No New Posts Apprentice's Den

Similar to the medicine den, the apprentice's den is an abandoned burrow that warriors enlarged on the inside to accommodate the number of apprentices. A rock covers most of the entrance, but it's still possible to get inside, especially for cats the stereotypical size of apprentices. The entrance opens up directly to the clearing, so it's easy for apprentices to get bedding not only for themselves, but also for the elders and queens in the nursery. The inside is very dark, though, and apprentices have to be careful when walking around not to bump into walls or step on other cats' tails.

No New Posts Nursery

Only a fox-length away from the medicine den, the nursery is a large boulder that is halfway submerged into the ground. Much of the rock at the bottom has been carved away, along with a lot of the soil beneath it, which makes the entrance, leading downward into the nursery. Being underground and sheltered by the large boulder, the nursery provides some of the most protection that the FlameClan camp can provide as to safely house the to-be apprentices. The ground slopes ever so slightly downward just outside the entrance, so even though it is underground, there is little chance of flooding.

No New Posts Elder's Den

The furthest den from the entrance is the elder's den. Half-underground, half-above ground, the elder's den is sheltered by a large, dome-like rock. The rock isn't too high, and the top is flat, so it makes a nice place for elders to relax and sun themselves when the weather is nice - assuming they don't fall off. The inside is basically a cave, the walls composed of rock and the ground bare soil. Though the ground isn't very comfortable for sleeping on, apprentices rarely slack off on getting the bedding because it is one of the easiest chores for them.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
FlameClan Camp
FlameClan's camp is a small, flat plateau located between the mountainous and flatland regions of their territory. The lush green grass is soft, and several large boulders that scatter across the opening provide excellent dens and protection. There is not much shelter against wind or precipitation except for the rocks, so the cats have become accustomed to getting their fur ruffled and wet frequently. During midnight, when there are no clouds in the sky, Silverpelt shines upon FlameClan the brightest, giving them light and faith for their warrior ancestors.
